Introducing the 50 State Flowers Mural project
As the United States celebrates its 250th birthday this year, Laura Ann Studio has launched a mural project in honor of the Semiquincentennial with the goal of painting a state flower mural in every state! Starting in 2026 with the painting of California golden poppies in her neighborhood of “Lone Mountain” in San Francisco, Laura aims to paint 250 murals throughout San Francisco, the Bay Area, California, and beyond! The nonpartisan mission behind the cheerful state flower murals is simple: to unite people and communities around the country in themes of love, peace, kindness, freedom, joy, and the pursuit of happiness. In celebration of the beauty of America, could we sew the seeds of peace, love, kindness, and unity and let community grow like wildflowers, one state flower at a time?

50 STATE MURALS: Do you have a fence, door, garage, or exterior wall at your home that you would like to beautify with a state flower mural? Mural art is inspired by the border designs of the Laura Ann Studio 50 State Flower watercolor portrait series.
50 STATE POTLUCK HOT PLATES: There’s nothing quite like food and gathering around a table to bring people together. Hosting potlucks allows for everyone to participate and bring something to the table. Start with the nation’s potluck on July 5, 2026 and don’t let it end there. Bringing a hot meal requires a good old fashioned “hot plate” trivet to set on the table. Bring the joy of state flowers to your tabletop from the places you’ve called home.
